There’s something exciting stirring along the Wolf River in Weyauwega—Gills On The Wolf, the beloved riverfront bar, grill, and marina, is getting a fresh start thanks to a passionate, tight-knit family ready to bring new life to a local favorite.

Purchased in October by Valyssa and Luke, along with Valyssa’s parents Brenda and Al, sister Alexa, brother-in-law Sean, and their children Breyer, Rowen, Colton, and Karsen, Gills On The Wolf is officially reopening this May. The family shares a deep love for boating in the area, having spent countless summers on the water, and has always dreamed of having a place on the river. That dream grew into something even bigger when they came across Gills for sale.

“We originally just wanted a cottage, but once we saw the bar and marina, we knew this could be something really special,” said Valyssa. “It had a cool history, great bones, and the opportunity to not only be our place on the river—but a space to share with the entire community.”

Since taking over, the family has spent months deep-cleaning, painting, and upgrading kitchen equipment to get the space ready for a full food menu and summer fun. From serving cold drinks and tasty eats to offering pontoon rentals and boat slip reservations, Gills On The Wolf is gearing up to be a hot spot for locals and visitors alike.
