Our Pack Animal Rescue has introduced us to this week’s Dog of the Week, and she is truly special. Meet Megan, a nine-month-old Collie and Lab mix with a bright white coat, soft, fluffy fur, and eye-catching markings. One of her brown spots is even shaped like a heart. She also has a striking feature that makes her unforgettable, one blue eye and one brown eye.
Megan currently weighs 34 pounds and has already been fixed and fully vaccinated. She is being fostered in Appleton while she searches for a family of her own. She has not been fostered with cats yet, but she gets along well with other dogs. Her compatibility with kids is still to be determined as her foster family learns more about her.
From the moment Megan arrived in her foster home, she greeted everyone like old friends. She is affectionate, trusting, and eager to make people feel loved. When she met her foster family’s dog for the first time, she immediately showed her gentle and submissive nature, rolling onto her back to say hello before the two settled in for playtime.
Her personality is full of curiosity and wonder. Megan is learning about the world and still adjusting to the sounds and new experiences around her. Everything from the ice maker to neighborhood activity grabs her attention and sometimes gives her a little scare. She is working hard on walking nicely on a leash, though she loves to stop and look around at everything happening nearby.
Megan is also making great progress with potty training. She has had a few accidents but is already learning where the door is and how to let her foster family know when she needs to go outside.
If you are looking for a loving young dog who wants nothing more than to bond with her people and explore the world with them, Megan may be the perfect match.
