Fremont residents have a reason to get excited for spring as Weyauwega-Fremont News & Events hosts a spring cleanup event on April 26th. The event will take place behind Fremont Village Hall and is designed to encourage everyone to clean up their yard and house both inside and out—for a cleaner, greener town while supporting a great cause.

Extra-large dumpsters will be available on-site for local residents to dispose of bulk trash and for the first time in years, the Village compost and stick/branch collection site will be open 8am-3pm. Items such as branches under 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length, along with lawn clippings and leaves, are welcome. In addition, the compost and brush pile areas will be open for drop-offs. Volunteers will be on hand to monitor progress and will ask for a monetary contribution will help fund the Veterans Backyard Bash..
At the April 8th Village Board meeting, Taylor Berndt, founder of Weyauwega-Fremont News, emphasized the importance of taking action during the spring season. When asking for permission to hold it on village property, “I am looking for a way everyone can do some spring cleaning inside and out, without an added cost to the village,” he said.
Local business support is also playing a key role in this initiative. Brad Lind of Lind Excavating is lending invaluable assistance by helping remove the compost and branches, ensuring that yard waste is hauled away efficiently!
Residents are encouraged to join in and make a day out of this. The cleanup event not only promises a refreshed neighborhood but also helps raise funds for a worthy cause, we here at Weyauwega Fremont News are proud to support!
For additional details on what can and cannot be disposed of in the provided dumpsters (prohibited items include aerosol cans, liquids, appliances, electronics, hazardous waste, tires, oil, paint, chemicals, and more), please refer to the event flyer or contact Taylor directly at Taylor@WeyauwegaFremontNews.com.
Join us on April 26th for a day of community, cleanup, and caring for our environment and veterans. Together, we can make Fremont shine!
