Jeanette R. Rivers Obituary
September 12, 1934 — May 16, 2025

Jeanette Ruth Rivers (Honey), 90, of Manawa, Wisconsin passed away on Friday May 16, 2025, with her family by her side.

She was born on September 12, 1934, in Chicago, IL to the late Achiel and Esther (Braun) Henderickx. She married B. Hall Rivers on September 27, 1952.

Jeanette is survived by her children: David Rivers (Diane), Jan Hass (Jim), Mark Rivers, Cheryl Knight (Chris), Laura O'Brien, Karen Konrad; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; brother, Donald Henderickx and many other relatives and friends.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, B. Hall; her sister, Lynn Henderickx; and her grandson, Joshua Hass.

Mom has gone to be with her loving Heavenly Father. As siblings we sat together taking in the reality. We knew this day would come, but it was still hard to accept. Our quiet internalizations seemed to naturally (maybe necessarily) give way to reminiscing about Mom's characteristics and interactions with us.

And we remembered...

her devotion to our father,

her undeniable value and virtue as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother,

her combination of toughness and kindness that only a mother has,

her sense of humor,

her extraordinary energy and tireless motherly hands that created a legacy of love, care, and service,

her planting of the early seeds of life lessons and values that shaped our futures,

her gift of life she delivered and supported in each of us as we grew,

her nurturing and fostering in us a generational faith that stands the test of time,

her crucial values and virtue teachings that laid the foundation of our lives,

her proactive approach in managing her home with grace and wisdom,

her financial wisdom, prowess, and partnership that she shared with our entrepreneurial father in his business ventures,

her endurance, inner strength, and grace in the face of unexpected challenges and hardships,

her unwavering faith and courage when facing an uncertain future,

her love of animals,

her love of church friends and her church community.

She was a Proverbs 31 woman.

She will be missed by many who are blessed by memories of her and comforted by the knowledge that she is in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.

Jeanette was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Manawa, Wisconsin, the St. Paul Quilting Guild, and St. Paul Ladies Aid. She also volunteered at St. Paul Lutheran School as a teacher's aide.
