The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of calls this past week, from serious crashes and domestic disputes to routine school safety checks and even some light-hearted mishaps like barking dogs, runaway campers, and accidental 911 calls. Here’s a look at the incidents that kept deputies busy between September 8 and September 14, 2025.

Monday, Sept. 8
Hortonville – A seal-coat truck carrying 700 gallons of liquid went into the ditch. No injuries were reported.
Farmington – A Rainbow Lake resident reported his dock and swim float were damaged and pushed across the lake overnight.
Fremont – A citizen assist was logged after a woman reported issues with her boyfriend’s ex showing up at their house. The caller mentioned alleged threats from an intoxicated female in Clintonville connected to the situation
Weyauwega – Deputies responded to an overdose involving a 56-year-old woman who had reportedly ingested pills.
Waupaca – A woman reported being followed and assaulted. Later, deputies were called when another individual attempted self-harm using exercise bands.
Scandinavia – A purse containing identification and prescriptions was lost after being left on top of a vehicle.
Countywide – Other calls included barking dogs at 5 a.m., property damage in ditches, trespassing complaints, and several school walk-throughs.
Tuesday, Sept. 9
Bancroft – A tractor broke down in the roadway during potato harvest, briefly blocking traffic.
Waupaca – Lawn ornaments were vandalized, and a separate call came in about mulch scattering from a semi with an unsecured tarp. Deputies also assisted during a school lockdown drill.
Ogdensburg – A storage unit burglary was reported after a tenant found a damaged door.
New London – A domestic disturbance escalated when one man reported his brother pulled a knife on him. An ambulance was called.
Countywide – Other calls included reports of a vehicle traveling more than 100 mph, an ATV crash with injuries, illegal dumping of a couch, and welfare checks.
Wednesday, Sept. 10
Waupaca – At Waupaca High School, a teacher reported a student exposing themselves in class. Deputies also followed up on a welfare check after a DHS medication error.
Clintonville – A man reported harassing text messages and asked for guidance on child placement.
Weyauwega – A welfare check was requested on a student who had not attended school this year.
New London – A woman reported someone claiming to be a property server refused to leave her home while her children were inside.
Countywide – Calls included disabled vehicles, traffic stops, radar enforcement in school zones, and a complaint of a dog barking nonstop for over an hour.
Thursday, Sept. 11
Waupaca – Deputies stopped a Jeep pulling a trailer without lights after it nearly caused a crash. In another case, a resident reported damage to a garage door in an attempted break-in.
Weyauwega – At Royal Oaks Campground, a guest was reported removing security cameras. Later, a driver blew past a stopped school bus while children were still loading.
Clintonville – A man reported his computer and phone had been hacked.
Union Township – A motorcycle crash left the rider bleeding from the face but conscious.
Waupaca – A domestic dispute involved a woman allegedly swinging a baseball bat.
New London (Rawhide) – Juvenile runaways were reported from campus trails.
Iola – A tree was reported blocking the roadway.
Friday, Sept. 12
Iola area – A vehicle struck a deer; the driver was safe, though the deer was not.
New London – A stolen vehicle was reported on Pine Street after the owner left keys inside overnight.
Weyauwega – Deputies handled a trespassing complaint at a campground after a previously banned camper returned and caused a disturbance.
Marion – A theft was reported from a child’s bedroom by someone with access to the home.
Farmington – At Wisconsin Veterans Home, $100 was reported missing from a resident’s wallet. Staff noted the man has dementia and requested only a case number.
Waupaca – Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at gas pumps, a dog bite incident requiring rabies shots, and a dispute over a tree stand removal caught on video.
Weyauwega – A controlled burn was logged on County F.
Countywide – Deputies assisted the FBI with an Amber Alert investigation, responded to unsafe line painting traffic control, and calmed a disorderly subject at the District Attorney’s office.
Saturday, Sept. 13
Waupaca – Deputies provided foot patrol during the high school football game. Later, a black Toyota Tundra was reported “all over the road,” but was not located.
Clintonville – A 911 hangup was traced to a home; no emergency was found.
Weyauwega – A disorderly conduct call came in after a woman said her husband was upset and armed. Deputies responded to defuse the situation.
Waupaca – Deputies handled a car-deer crash; the vehicle was disabled but no injuries reported.
Sunday, Sept. 14
Union Township – Deputies assisted after an ATV rollover. The rider was alert at the scene.
Cedarburg (traveler in county) – A disabled RV ended up in a ditch; no injuries were reported.
Bear Creek – A woman accidentally dialed 911 when her purse dropped and triggered the phone.
Manawa – A 911 call was traced to an Apple Watch’s emergency feature.
Waupaca – Deputies responded to a vehicle crash on Bailey Street with damage but no major injuries.
Countywide – The weekend also saw multiple 911 misdials, extra patrols, and welfare checks.
