Town of Fremont Sets Public Budget Hearing for November 18

The Town of Fremont in Waupaca County has announced its annual Public Budget Hearing for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will take place at the Fremont Town Hall, located at E7403 Highway 110, Fremont.

Residents are encouraged to attend and review the proposed 2026 town budget, which outlines projected revenues and expenses for the upcoming year. A detailed copy of the proposed budget is available for public inspection at the clerk’s office by appointment.

Town of Fremont Budget Overview

The Town of Fremont’s total proposed revenues for 2026 are $504,306.33, up from $471,343.54 in 2025. After applying cash reserves, the total proposed budget stands at $525,179.59.

Revenue highlights include:

• Taxes: $249,876 (up from $244,194 in 2025)

• Intergovernmental revenues: $115,342.93 (up from $105,649.54)

• Public charges for services: $105,012.40 (up from $88,000)

  
  

Expense highlights include:

• General government: $122,600 (up from $108,297)

• Public safety: $234,512.40 (slightly down from $239,600)

• Public works: $147,000 (down from $191,500)

  
  

Special Town Meeting to Follow

Immediately following the budget hearing, a Special Town Meeting of Electors will be held. The purpose of this meeting is to adopt the 2025 town tax levy, which will be paid in 2026, as authorized under Wisconsin Statute 60.10(1)(a).

Both meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about how the town’s tax dollars are being allocated for the year ahead.
