The Village of Fremont has released its proposed 2026 budget for public review, including the General Fund and Sewer Utility. Residents can now examine the full financial plan before the upcoming budget hearing.

A key change from the 2025 to the 2026 budget is a significant increase in both revenue and spending. This large jump is not tied to local taxes or operational growth. It reflects the major grant funding awarded for the construction of the new Neuschafer Community Library. The grant enters the budget as intergovernmental revenue and is matched with capital outlay expenses for the project, which explains the higher totals on both sides of the ledger.

Other departmental operating amounts remain generally consistent with last year, with modest adjustments based on costs and needs.

The Village of Fremont will hold its budget review meeting on December 1 at 6 p.m. at the Village Hall. Copies of the proposed 2026 budget are available at Village Hall for residents to review before the meeting.
