For the first time ever, the Weyauwega and Fremont Post Offices are participating in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the nation’s largest one-day food collection campaign. This important initiative, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), takes place annually on the second Saturday in May—this year falling on Saturday, May 10th, 2025.

Residents are invited to take part by donating non-perishable food items between now and May 10. You can either drop off donations at your local post office or, even easier, simply place your bagged items near your mailbox on the morning of May 10. Your local letter carriers will collect them during their regular routes.
“This is our first year participating, and we’re so excited to bring this to our communities,” said Jennifer Fritch. “All collected food will go directly to our local food pantry, helping families right here in the Weyauwega and Fremont areas.”
Important guidelines:
Please make sure all donated items are non-perishable and not expired.
Examples of great donation items include canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice, soup, cereal, and canned meats.
Carriers will collect items Saturday only, so be sure to leave your donation out early on May 10.
Now in its 32nd year nationwide, Stamp Out Hunger has helped millions of Americans who face food insecurity. As this becomes an annual tradition for Weyauwega and Fremont, the community has a meaningful new way to give back—right from their mailbox.
