This year, the light show is partnering with the E.     The season of giving is in full swing in Fremont as The Giving Tree  has returned to its home at the Bridge Bar & Restaurant! From toiletries to clothes, to gas cards and pillows. Families selected by the Weyauwega Fremont School District will have an easier Christmas this year. Here’s how it works: 1️⃣ Stop by the Bridge Bar to pick a tag from the tree. 2️⃣ Purchase the items listed on the tag. 3️⃣ Return the gifts UNWRAPPED  with the tag attached to the Bridge Bar by December 9th . Every year, the Giving Tree inspires generosity. This year, businesses and workers in the Fremont area have stepped up in a big way with many donating their tips to support the cause. Their efforts embody the true spirit of the season, showing how small actions can make a big difference.     Hi, I’m Taylor Berndt, and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Weyauwega Fremont News —the first of what I hope will become a network of news websites dedicated to small communities across the state. My mission is simple: to bring our local communities closer together by sharing events, local happenings, and news in one centralized place! From Warhawk Sports Updates , Town Meeting Notices , and Church Announcements , restaurant specials , band schedules , and more! This site and our Facebook page will be your go-to spot for staying in the loop about what’s happening in Weyauwega, Fremont, and all the communities in between. I recently married my amazing wife, Hanna, and we live in Fremont with our two dogs, Willard (a Jack Russell mix) and Humphrey (a Mini Goldendoodle), and our cat, Zeus. By day, I’m the General Sales Manager at Neuville Motors GM of Waupaca, but this project will be my passion and focus after hours!     The local Christmas festivities aren’t over! This Saturday, December 7th, 2024, head over to Weyauwega  for the Winter Wonderland , another magical holiday celebration you won’t want to miss! Here’s what’s happening: Pre-Parade Activities 🎄 Holiday Historic Tour:  12 PM – 4 PM (Tickets available at City Hall) 🍲 Chili Supper & Bake Sale:  4 PM – 7 PM by Cub Scout Pack 3621 at the Community Center 🎨 Face Painting by Ali:  Starting at 4 PM at the Community Center Parade Details 🎅 Parade Starts at 5:30 PM  and will feature even more dazzling floats spreading holiday joy. After the Parade 🎄 Tree Lighting Ceremony:  Gather around for the lighting of the city Christmas tree, accompanied by the WF Choir and sponsored by the Gerold Opera House. 🎅 Meet Santa:  Stop by the Gerold Opera House for hot chocolate, candy canes, and holiday music presented by the WF Choir and Band. 🚒 Lights Display:  Waupaca County Fire Departments will have their stunning lights display on the 200 block of E.   • Recap: Frolic in Fremont 2024

    The holiday cheer was unstoppable in Fremont this past Saturday, as the annual Frolic in Fremont  brought the community together for a day of festive fun! Despite the chilly temperatures, families and friends bundled up and came out in droves to enjoy the celebration, proving that nothing can dim the holiday spirit in Fremont. One of the highlights of the event was the Holiday Parade , which featured over 25 incredible floats, each radiating holiday magic. A big congratulations to this year’s winners: 🥇 First Place:  Fremont Giving Tree 🥈 Second Place:  Shanna Brewer of Coaction Reality 🥉 Third Place:  Brueser Construction The beautifully decorated floats, twinkling lights, and holiday music lit up the streets and warmed everyone’s hearts! we can't wait until next year! After the parade, the festivities continued throughout Fremont, especially at the Fremont River Deck, where The Spicy Tie Band  played to a packed crowd. The event ended on a high note with dancing, laughter, and holiday cheer all around.   • Dustin "Dusty" B. Hildebrand

    Dustin (Dusty) Bartlett Hildebrand, age 44, of Weyauwega WI, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of December 2nd, 2024. He was born on March 12th, 1980, the second son of Greg and Sharon Hildebrand. Dusty grew up in Weyauwega and was a graduate of Weyauwega Fremont High School in 1998. Dusty was employed at different businesses throughout his life including being a truck driver after he obtained his CDL license. Once you met Dusty you had a loyal friend for life. Dusty had a jovial personality and was always cheerful and optimistic. He had an infectious and happy heart, and his heart was always in the right place. If you were ever stuck in a bad spot and needed some help, Dusty was always there for you, to help you and to make you feel better. He truly loved all his family and friends. In his last few years Dusty was truly a Godsend as he was a primary caregiver for his mother at home in her time of need, a sincere thank you for that, Dusty! In the spring and summer months you could find Dusty on his boat up at the fishing raft with his dad and his other friends and family, catching walleyes or "cruising" on the Wolf River. Dusty is survived by his parents: Greg and Sharon Hildebrand; brother: Andy (Mandi) Hildebrand; nephew Mason and niece Brooklynn Hildebrand; cousins: Todd, Craig, Trevor, Scott, Jason, Anjela, Jamie and Andie. Dusty is further survived by his Uncle Ron and Aunt Jane Behm, and his Aunt Wanda; his dog Bailey, and special friends: Greg (Oscar) Harris and Amy Halverson, and numerous other friends and relatives in a list that is too long for this writing. Dusty was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ed and Delores Hildebrand, Elder and Margaret Behm; Uncles John and Jim Hildebrand; Aunts Diana and Susan Hildebrand; his beloved dogs throughout his life: Ginger, Sammy, Matty. A Celebration of Life for Dusty will be held at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Weyauwega on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, followed by a gathering at Picklebellies Pub in Weyauwega where we will continue Dusty's celebration of life, a life left unfinished. Ya Guy!!

    The holiday magic is back in Fremont, Wisconsin, with the annual Frolic in Fremont  celebration on Saturday, November 30th ! This action-packed day promises fun for all ages, with festive activities, live entertainment, and the much-anticipated holiday parade. What’s Happening? The festivities kick off at 11 AM  at the Fremont River Deck with the Craft Fair and Raffle Basket Fundraiser  hosted by the Friends of the Neuschafer Community Library. Shop for unique holiday gifts, delicious baked goods, and take part in the exciting raffle. Satisfy your hunger with a stop at the American Legion Post 391 Brat Fry , serving up brats and hotdogs starting at 11 AM until sold out! 🎄 Holiday Parade Details The highlight of the day is the Holiday Parade , starting at 5 PM . Floats will line up at Fremont Elementary at 4 PM  and travel through town to Bridge Bar. Parade floats will be introduced at Hotel Fremont, adding extra cheer to the route!
