FREMONT, WI (October 2025) — While things may look a little quiet at the construction site of Fremont’s new Community Center and Neuschafer Library, progress is very much on track, and right on schedule.

Crews have recently completed several major milestones, including pouring the concrete slab, finishing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) underground systems, and completing all footings, backfills, and grading.
Right now, the concrete slab is curing, a necessary waiting period before the next phase of work begins.
“While the construction site has remained quiet the last couple of weeks, work will soon begin once again and rest assured, everything remains on schedule,” the library shared in their most recent update.
What’s Next
The next few months will bring visible progress as crews move into structural assembly. The glulam beams — large laminated timber supports that will form the frame of the building — are set for delivery in late October, with installation scheduled to begin in early November.
Once those are in place, construction will move forward quickly with roof panel installation, electrical conduit work, and interior systems over the winter months.

A Community Effort
The Neuschafer Library and Village of Fremont expressed gratitude to the construction teams, stakeholders, employees, and community members who continue to support the project.

A recent photo taken by Rebecca Doyle posted to Neuschafer Library page on September 15th shows the smooth, finished slab ready for framing — a strong foundation for what’s to come.

This new facility will combine Fremont’s beloved Neuschafer Library with a multi-use community center, providing modern spaces for reading, learning, meetings, events, and programs for all ages.
Stay tuned for more updates as framing begins in November! Have a story you'd like to share? Email us at Events@weyauwegafremontnews.com! We'd love to hear from you!
