It’s an exciting time at Neuschafer Community Library as plans for the future Fremont Library & Community Center continue to unfold—with the help of some very enthusiastic young minds!

On April 30th, the library welcomed Ashlee Prochnow, principal architect from McMahon Associates, who got an up-close look at the creativity brewing inside the library—especially the incredible cardboard building project, young patrons have been constructing together. Ashlee even received feedback straight from future leaders (and maybe even future architects!) as we fine-tuned ideas and materials for the upcoming library space.
Design renderings from JLG Architects have already wowed the community, capturing Fremont’s natural beauty, character, and spirit. Now, with McMahon taking the reins to finalize the architecture and engineering, building plans are nearly complete. They are on track to go out for bid soon—and if all goes well, groundbreaking is set for July!
The Library is beyond grateful to their partners and to the entire Weyauwega-Fremont School District, especially Mrs. Peuse and her first-grade class, who visited the library and brought joy, questions, and curiosity with them. Their presence reminded what this project is truly about: building a future for the community—together.

With expanded resources, meeting rooms, and flexible spaces planned, the new Neuschafer Library will serve as a vibrant hub for generations to come.
