Driver Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash in Lind Township

LIND — The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a driver involved in a single-vehicle crash last week in the Town of Lind has died from injuries sustained in the accident.

According to a media release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the intersection of Southwood Drive and County Highway E at 8:44 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025. The preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Southwood Drive when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

Both the driver and passenger were trapped inside and had to be extricated by emergency crews. They were transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Neenah with serious injuries.

On October 28, authorities were notified that the driver had succumbed to injuries related to the crash. The passenger’s condition has not been released.


The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash. The Waupaca Area Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.
