Village of Fremont, Town of Wolf River & Town of Fremont Boards to Meet Jointly on Wolf River Rules

FREMONT – A special joint board meeting between the Village of Fremont, Town of Fremont, and Town of Wolf River will take place on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Village of Fremont Hall Gym, 317 Wolf River Drive.

The meeting aims to bring consistency to Slow No Wake hours and Independence Day “Gap Day” ordinances across all three municipalities. For years, slightly different local rules have caused confusion for boaters traveling along the Wolf River into Lake Poygan. Aligning these regulations will help ensure clarity, safety, and smoother enforcement on the water.

“This coordination is long overdue,” said Judy Johnson, Vice President of the Tri-County Power Boat Alliance. “It’s critical for area businesses to have reliable navigational access for their waterfront customers, while still respecting the concerns of multiple local stakeholders. Having consistent rules across all three municipalities helps everyone operate smoothly and safely.”

The meeting will also discuss how often the municipalities should jointly review these shared ordinances in the future. Leaders hope the discussion will establish a regular cadence of collaboration, ensuring future updates are handled collectively rather than separately.

While the session is open to the public, no public comment will be taken during this meeting. Officials will instead turn to historical feedback and documentation as they work toward unified language and timing for the Slow No Wake and Gap Day regulations.
