Fremont — October 14, 2025

The Village of Fremont will hold two, back-to-back board meetings Tuesday evening at Village Hall (317 Wolf River Drive).

Fremont board meetings announce on tan overlay, set for Oct 14, 2025, at 5:45pm & 6pm. Background: aerial view of a green landscape.

The first meeting — a Special Board Meeting at 5:45 PM — will focus on personnel and administrative transitions within the Village. This meeting comes after the Employee committee met Monday night at the Village Hall. The agenda includes discussion and possible action on recommendations from the Employee & Purchasing Committee from their Monday night meeting, regarding the hiring of a new Clerk/Treasurer and a trainer to assist with the onboarding process,

During the Special meeting at 5:45, The Board has on the agenda to meet in closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c), to allow discussion of employment-related matters such as hiring and compensation with the entire Village Board. Following closed session, the Board is expected to discuss and possibly act on several housekeeping steps, including updating bank account authorizations to reflect any staffing changes.

Immediately following the special session, the regularly scheduled Village Board Meeting will begin at 6:00 PM. Note: The regular meeting cannot legally start before 6:00 PM, but if the 5:45 session runs past that time, it will begin immediately afterward. The regular meeting includes committee reports, a review of the Sheriff’s contract for 2026, discussion of winter road material pricing, consideration of Webfooter Water Ski Club’s 2026 indoor practice schedule, and several building maintenance items for the Village Hall.

Tuesday’s meeting will also include the first 2026 Budget Workshop, where trustees will begin reviewing next year’s financial priorities and allocations.

According to a village official, holding the closed session earlier allows the regular meeting to run more efficiently for residents who attend in person, while ensuring all required actions are completed in open session afterward.

Both meetings are open to the public, except for the closed-session portion as allowed by state law.
