Waupaca County law enforcement handled a steady mix of calls Oct. 1–7, including a death investigation near Weyauwega, a Fremont phone-scam loss, illegal burning complaints, traffic hazards, and routine 911 activity. Clintonville

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Resident reported a large black trash bag with maggots dumped on Nature Road; officers checked the area.

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Mailbox reported knocked down on Kutchenriter Road; fire number post also damaged.


Embarrass

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Caller reported a youth walking down E. Main/Clover Leaf Lakes area opening mailboxes; deputies notified.


Farmington

• Wed, Oct. 1 – Ongoing issue of ducks and chickens in the roadway; farm contact spoken to by deputy.


Fremont

• Wed, Oct. 1 – Walk-in at the sheriff’s office requested to speak with an officer about a relative’s violent behavior; report taken (Woods Edge Dr. address).

• Fri, Oct. 3 – Resident reported a phone scam; approx. $1,500 lost (gift cards/bank account compromise).


Iola

• Fri, Oct. 3 – Report of a black Chevy Cruze nearly losing control turning off Hwy 49, then speeding on Kenwood Drive; believed to be students.


Manawa

• Fri, Oct. 3 – 911 misdial/open line from Pin Oak Road; no emergency found on callback.

• Mon, Oct. 6 – Car-deer crash on Buchholz Road (Nissan Rogue); no injuries reported.

Mukwa / New London (Rawhide)

• Fri, Oct. 3 – Controlled burn registered on Ostrander Road, Mukwa.

• Fri, Oct. 3 – Property damage reported following a disturbance at Rawhide facilities; staff requested deputy response.


Scandinavia

• Wed, Oct. 1 – 911 open line with no voice contact that moved locations; caller later advised it was a pocket dial and there was no emergency.


Waupaca (City/Area)

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Solid-waste/illegal burning complaint noted for a Parkview Way property (plastic/rubber burned); prior issues documented.

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Property damage: three solar lights reported broken on Lamplighter Lane; resident now has a security camera.

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Ambulance to the jail’s north sally port for a possible overdose; Gold Cross notified.


Weyauwega

• Wed, Oct. 1 – Unattended death of an 85-year-old male on County Road X; beyond help at time of discovery.

• Thu, Oct. 2 – Resident brought a found dog to the police department; Animal Control contacted.

• Mon, Oct. 6 – Warrant service at the Weyauwega Police Department (DOC warrant).

• Tue, Oct. 7 – After-midnight traffic enforcement with multiple stops by Weyauwega PD; all cleared OK.


Countywide

Throughout the week, deputies also logged routine school patrols, extra patrols, paper services, deer/animal calls, transports, and several accidental 911 dials or hang-ups typical for early October.
